WHY USE A TRAVEL AGENT?

WHAT IS A TRAVEL AGENT, AND WHY WOULD I USE ONE?

A travel agent creates a “win/win” situation; they find the best vacations for their clients, and they make sure all the right questions are asked and answered, and everyone knows what is about to happen. The client gets the peace-of-mind of knowing everything will be taken care of, and the hotel, resort or other destination gets a happy client instead of someone with many problems in need of solving. Win/win!

YOU DON’T PAY YOUR TRAVEL AGENT.

Travel agents receive commissions from the destinations, tours, and services the client selects. Most destinations pay the agent through a travel agency which oversees the activities of the agent, and provides resources and services to help the agent do their job.

YOU WILL “NOT” SAVE MONEY BY BOOKING DIRECTLY WITH THE DESTINATION.

Your travel agent can always get for you, the same deal you can get by booking directly with the destination; usually they can do better. If you book directly with the destination, they will credit their snappy ad campaign instead of an informed decision between you and your agent. Your hotel is only concerned with the part of your vacation which is handled by them, as is the airline and car rental you use, and the attractions you visit. If you book directly with the destination, your agent will not receive a commission, and may be legally excluded from helping you should something go wrong; they will be out of the loop.

A TRAVEL AGENT KNOWS HOW TO GET GOOD INFORMATION.

A good travel agent can find out what you should know about where you want to go. She/he can research the world through multiple resources of good current information. It is the travel agent’s resources and ability to do this research that makes him or her so valuable.

A TRAVEL AGENT WILL STEER YOU AROUND POTENTIAL PROBLEMS.

Suppose you arrived at your destination to find a celebration in progress, and you were among the few who didn’t have a ticket? ... In parts of the world it is necessary to be mindful of what to wear and not wear…. It’s a sad fact that some otherwise wonderful places have parts Americans should avoid…. Did you know there are countries which apply extreme penalties for performing gay acts? Different cultures have different rules; your travel agent has resources which help you avoid problems.

CONSIDER USING A LIMO SERVICE WHEN:

1. You anticipate a long day of travel. Long travel legs really sap your energy; anything that can help you make it through is worth considering.

2. The alternative is parking your car at the airport for several days. At some point (days of parking) it will become cheaper to use a limo, but even if it’s close, limos are a preferred way to travel.

3. You are flying first class. If you’re going first class, go all the way.

4. You need to arrive at the top of your game.If you are going straight to that big meeting, a limo can give you fewer distractions, and help you focus your thoughts.

When you’ve spent the last eighteen hours returning home from the far side of the planet, nothing is more pleasing, as you exit customs, than seeing a sign with your name on it.
